Basic Security Training
Security Professionals working in the province of British Columbia are required to complete mandatory training prior to being eligible for provincial licensing. Mandatory BST training is 40 hours in length, and focuses on the following content:

Advanced Security Training
Individuals holding a security worker license who are required to carry and use handcuffs in the performance of their duties are now required to add this condition to their Security Worker license through the Registrar, Security Services Act. AST Certificates must be renewed every three years. In order to obtain this condition, individuals must successfully complete the 24-hour Advanced Security Training (AST) course provided by AST Instructors approved by the Justice Institute of British Columbia. This required course is 24 hours and focuses on:

Report Writing/Note Taking
Report writing is an essential skill in the public and private sector. Proper report writing reduces liability, provides reliability and is a crucial piece of evidence for the courts. Students will learn how to prepare legal reports, prepare Reports to Crown Counsel and how to effectively take notes.
Courtroom testimony prepares the student for providing evidence in Provincial, Municipal and Federal courts. Students will learn the traditions and customs of our court system and will participate in mock trials to ensure that they are providing effective, ethical and professional testimonies.
Tactical Communication/Non Violent Crisis Intervention
The majority of any individual’s interaction with the public, either in a social or professional environment, begins with communication. In order to attempt to properly diffuse a potential confrontation, it is important to develop proper communication skills. Tactical Communication consists of proper dialogue, demeanor, conflict resolution and mediation skills. This course is essential to ensure that students are providing a professional representation of the employer and the community.
Emergency First Aid
Students will participate and certify in Emergency Level first aid to assist them with medical encounters and prepare them to provide care until First Responders arrive on scene. Students will be presented with a recognized certificate from a certified provider.
Searching and Patrol Techniques
Students will be taught the fundamentals of the security industry and how to effectively patrol and maintain a high standard of public safety professionalism. TFG has implemented reality based training into module to allow for a comprehensive and retainable training environment.

Security Professionals often encounter violations and serious infractions of the Criminal Code of Canada. Students will be introduced to the Canadian Legal System with an emphasis on the Criminal Code of Canada, Federal Statues, Local bylaws and other policies and procedures.
Students will learn how to recognize common offences and how to deal and report incidents to the local police/authorities.
Bomb Threats/Emergency Scenario Training
Students will learn the proper safety protocols and procedures to deal with an unknown explosive device threat. Students will learn how to recognize suspicious packages or materials and the reporting requirements to the local authorities. Students will be exposed to other emergency training scenarios such as natural disaster, industrial accidents and introduction to anti terrorism.
Students will participate in a basic computer skills course to enhance their skills using computers and common software applications such as Word, Excel, Internet, Email Clients, and Reporting Software. Students will also participate in a typing class to increase their efficiency and WPM score.
Students will participate and certify in WHIMIS that corresponds to Federal and Provincial Hazardous Material Regulations.
Fire Extinguisher Training
Students will be shown the various types of fire extinguishers that are available on the market in addition to learning what extinguisher is appropriate for the classified fire. Students will be proficient in the discharge of the equipment.
Bears are fascinating creatures that are generally quite peaceful, but they are also powerful carnivores capable of doing great damage to property as well as human beings, and should be treated with respect. This course covers general bear facts as well as discussing safety procedures for personnel working in the field, and the proper procedures for setting up and maintaining a safe camp.
H2S Alive certification is mandatory for most occupations within the Oil and Gas Industry from drilling and exploration, to construction, maintenance, processing and heavy oil sands operations. The certification process is the same for all occupations regardless of trade, location or corporate status which ensures consistent effective training for everyone regardless of their position.
Students will learn the basics in drug recognition and how to properly handle and report narcotics as per Health Canada and the CDSA requirements. Students will learn how to recognize the effects of narcotics and how to properly treat and communicate with drug induced subjects.
Mental Health and Suicide Awareness
Students will participate in our Mental Health and Suicide Awareness course. Topics will include but are not limited to:
Understanding Suicide/Mental Health, Recognizing Signs of Depression, Warning Signs of Suicide and Self Harm, Understanding Risk Facts, Assessing Risk Factors, Case Studies, Community Outreach and Support.
Loss Prevention Program
This new program has been developed to assist persons that are seeking a career in Loss Prevention or Corporate Asset Management. The Loss Prevention Course is offered on its own or is recommended as an addition to the Advanced Security Training Course.
OFA Level 1
Individuals wanting to gain first aid skills to comply with labour requirements and improve job opportunities. This course is for anyone wanting to learn life-saving skills to improve the health and safety of their work and home environment.
Learn the ins and outs of the bylaw enforcement job. Course participants learn the history, legislation and practical application of bylaw enforcement, together with the concepts and terminology central to the bylaw enforcement officer’s job.
Tactical Adrenaline Combatives Level I-III
Tactical Fusion Group staff and instructor as highly skilled in several areas of combatives and defense techniques. We have spent years attending courses throughout the World learning new methods and styles.
Traditionally Martial Arts and Popular Defense Tactics courses have stayed within a set of values and religious ideas. They often encourage their students to stay within the club for several years while paying a high monthly fee and yearly testing fees with little reward other than a color on a belt. This option is frustrating to some students as the progression is slow and the value is low.
TFG TAC Program is not for the person who wants tradition or sport style defense. TFG does not believe in slow progress! We believe that a student can be shown a set of skill sets and retain the knowledge without the constant burden of paying fees to a school.
TFG has taken the core concepts from several disciplines and modified the techniques and styles that are most suitable for the Law Enforcement Community, Private.
Active Assault/Shooter Awareness
TFG has developed an Active Shooter/Assault course to assist with the awareness of a tragic event. Clients will learn how to prepare and respond to significant event with latest methods and tactics to help keep you and your employees, students or family members alive.
TFG Bike Patrol course is designed for the law enforcement and security industry. Students will participate in a variety of class and field exercises with an emphasis on officer safety road safety.
TFG Crowd Management course is designed to educate students on how to safely manage and facilitate small, medium and large crowds. Participants will learn the fundamentals of crowd control in regards to festivals, concerts, demonstrations, access control and other gatherings.
Maritime Safety is crucial to ensure safety at our ports. Participants will learn the essentials of Marine Transportation Security Act, US MARSEC and other regulated safety measures.
Close Protection Course
TFG Close Protection Course has been designed to teach new operators the basics of Close Protection, Executive Protection and Asset Management. This course is conducted both in the field and in the classroom with experienced CP Operators.
Health Care-Violent Patient Management
Health Care Security operations requires individuals to be specially trained to handle and care for patients who may be in crisis. Our program has an emphasis on client care while maintaining a safe environment for both the public, health care staff and the officer.
New and experienced managers will learn the core concepts on how to be an effective leader in the workplace. The course is designed to teach managerial staff on how to grow your organization while working within a functioning strategic plan. Core concepts will include employee management and growth, how to prepare corporate goals and visions and how to effectively manage your corporate team and yourself.
